CHEMOOKA-MON

There’s an open boat, down stream, on the river;
but the salmon still smile, laugh and play.
There’s a lonely hunter in the field of joy;
but the buffalo can still enjoy their life
.

           And you wish to be my brother – killed our mother.
All my trust in you is gone – Chemooka-mon.

And in secret places high up in the mountains
the flowers are carefully picked up by the women.
And the children are all happy, warm and well fed,
while the sun is shining on the earth.

             And you wish to be my brother – killed our mother.
All my trust in you is gone – Chemooka-mon.

Then the whisky and the uniforms came marching
and destroyed the land and made the men all crazy.
And the lunies holding warm guns in their hands
raped the women and the children were all killed.

           And you wish to be my brother – killed our mother.
All my trust in you is gone – Chemooka-mon.

In the spirit of a peaceful ”happy ending”
I remind you that we all shall meet again.
In ”The Dancing Light” – I'm sure they are all waiting.
So take care and think of what you’re leaving.

             And you wish to be my brother – killed our mother.
All my trust in you is gone – Chemooka-mon.
